Cheers to 2019

2018. What a year. It was a year of survival, and my mindset is that in a yin/yang fashion, that will make 2019 a year of thriving.

Before welcoming in the New Year, it’s time to reflect and say goodbye to the current one. I’m not always one for long posts at New Years, but my hope is that by saying a formal goodbye to 2018, it will give 2019 the opportunity to be the amazing year it can be.

2018 was a year of change and of loss. We lost Sirius and Oliver, who both lived incredibly full and long lives, but still left behind a void. My family moved out of our place in Forest Hill, and it was hard to say goodbye to having the horses at home, especially during the holidays. And to finish off the year, I found myself facing severe autoimmune issues, resulting in the loss of my hair and almost constant pain that will follow me in to 2019.

But 2018 was also a year of growth and strength. Somehow I’ve been able survive each of these events and keep on moving forward. I’m not sure that would have been possible several years ago. I’ve grown into someone I’m very happy with, and look forward using this growth to accomplish some big goals in the coming year.

It was a year I came to appreciate the wonderful friends and family in my life even more than I already did. I have some amazing people in my life and I’m so excited for 2019 with them.

And finally, it was a year in which I decided to make some big changes, so that 2019 can be the year it’s meant to be. Cedric, Chandler, and I will be moving to Aiken, SC for the winter to get a head start on the season. From there we will make the big move back to Boston, MA to start the next chapter of our lives. I’m so grateful to my company and managers for allowing the move, and to my family and friends for supporting. There are big things to come in 2019 and I’m so excited for them.

So tonight, cheers to 2019, and the promise it holds. Wishing everyone the best, and if there’s any way I can help you reach your goals, if you need someone to talk to, or just want to catch up don’t hesitate to reach out, even if it’s been a while.
